Cruise Shows Information
Hi there,
I'm really looking forward to joining you on board!
My aim is to make the shows as straightforward as possible for the onboard team. They're designed to be completely self-contained, with the pre-show music, show introductions, video playback and camera switching all controlled by me using QLab.
I've attached my technical documents, including the lighting cue sheets, to give you everything you should need ahead of time. If you have any questions before I arrive, or if there's anything else I can provide in advance, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd be more than happy to help!
General Information
Both shows begin with an opening video and feature screen content throughout, all operated by me using QLab.
Show Operation
I'll operate all music, video playback and the live camera feed using QLab.
I'll supply my own MacBook Pro, which provides HDMI output for the visuals and a 3.5mm output for audio playback.
Ideally, my MacBook can be positioned stage left, which is also where my camera will be located. If the HDMI and audio can then be patched through to the booth, I'd really appreciate it.
I provide my own camera for the live video feed.
Show Opening
I'll begin playing my own pre-show music as guests enter the theatre. This includes a series of announcements designed to build excitement ahead of the performance.
When the show is ready to begin, I'll fade the music and immediately play the opening video.
Each show has its own unique opening video, which finishes with a voiceover introducing me to the stage.
Because of this, no live introduction from a host is required before either performance.
Show Closing
At the end of each show, a closing voiceover invites the audience to give one final round of applause.
Once this has finished, where applicable, a host is welcome to wrap up the evening.
Rehearsal
Ideally, I'd appreciate around one hour in the theatre with the technical team before each show.
The rehearsal is primarily for lighting, and to check the QLab system, LED wall, camera feed and audio.
If possible, I'd love for the lighting to be programmed in advance, ideally the evening before each show, or whenever is most convenient for the lighting designer. It would be incredibly helpful in speeding up the rehearsal and would be hugely appreciated!
I've included a lighting reference guide with visual renders for every lighting state in both shows. If the lighting designer would prefer to programme these in advance using the documents, that would be fantastic and I'd also be more than happy to meet with the designer at any point beforehand to go through everything together.
Audio
If I could please have the following, I'd really appreciate it:
One wireless headset microphone.
One wireless handheld microphone in a stand on stage.
One 3.5 mm audio connection on stage for my MacBook.
If available, I'd really appreciate a host being in the audience with the handheld microphone for approximately the first 10 minutes of the show to assist with audience interaction.
Thank you so much for all your help! I really appreciate it, and I can't wait to work with you all on board!
Stephen
